Recruitment process:
We will review applications regularly.
We hope to invite applicants for an informal initial chat.
After this, some applicants may be invited to an interview but we would discuss this with you to make a plan that feels comfortable, and provide questions for you to prepare for in advance.
What to do if you want to know more, or apply for the role:
We’d love to hear from you if you think this is something worth pursuing. Please fill in our application form at this link.
You can email us with any questions or thoughts at helloteom@theexpertonmyself.org.uk.
Becoming an Expert
TEOM recruits Lived Experience Experts to help with the design and be part of the delivery of our work.
We have a bank of Experts that we contact when we have paid opportunities.
We try as much as possible to recruit a diverse range of Experts from different backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities and with different disabilities, neurodiversities, sexualities, genders and more.
You do not need any specific qualifications (or any qualifications at all)! Your expertise comes from your own life and what you’ve learned along the way.
Work is not guaranteed on a regular basis, but we hope to have more and more opportunities as we grow. We have different options for compensation that we can talk you through, but have a universal hourly rate that we provide. We are living wage accredited.
We offer training around safeguarding, data protection and more. We try to provide ‘train the trainer’ sessions for those that would like to be able to deliver TEOM training as often as possible, depending on funding.
If you would like to get involved, want to find out more, or have any questions, please get in touch!
At the moment, we are actively looking for Lived Experience Experts around:
- Autism
- Tourettes
- ADHD
You do not necessarily need to have a diagnosis. If you have lived experience of another issue, please get in touch anyway!
Volunteering
Whilst we try to create as many paid opportunities as possible, many people ask us about volunteering and we are happy to facilitate this!
We often have opportunities to help out at community events, help with research and making connections and more. If you are interested in volunteering, please get in touch. We will ask you to fill out a form (and can help if needed) and go from there.
